Overhaul Description

When we describe a Clock Overhaul, we are referring to the steps we take to totally work on your clock.

Our Overhaul includes*:

1. Complete Movement Disassembly - We take apart the wheels, levers, and anything else that can come apart.

2. Thorough Cleaning - Using an ultrasonic cleaner and even a little hand cleaning, we thoroughly clean the clock's components to help ensure a smooth running clock.

3. Pivot Polishing - Smoothing of any rough surfaces on the wheel pivots.

4. Bushings as Required - The replacing of a worn pivot hole.

5. Minor/Simple Repairs - Such as straightening a bent tooth or adjustment of levers, or click rivets.

6. Complete Mainspring Cleaning - Too often, a dirty mainspring can cause the clock to stop. We take out the mainspring, clean it by hand and ultrasonically and follow with proper oiling and lubricating.

7. Movement Reassembly - This final step includes reassembling the wheels and mainsprings, and proper oiling, testing, and regulating.

See our Guarantee Page for additional information.

*Of course every clock is unique and needs to be treated as such. These steps are a general guideline of how we keep your clock running it's best. Major Repairs (if not noticed in the estimate) will not be completed until you have been contacted and given us permission to continue.
